  1. Understanding Song Structure

    • Common structures in electronic music (e.g., Intro, Build-up, Drop, Breakdown)
    • Analyzing reference tracks across genres
    • Transition techniques between sections
  2. Foundations of Arrangement

    • Layering sounds for cohesive sections
    • Arranging elements like drums, basslines, leads, and pads
    • Creating tension and release using automation
  3. Workflow and Tools

    • Using DAW features for arrangement (e.g., arrangement view, markers)
    • Effective use of loops, MIDI, and audio clips
    • Leveraging templates and presets to save time
  4. Creating Dynamic Arrangements

    • Adding variation with fills, FX, and transitions
    • Balancing energy levels throughout the track
    • Techniques for keeping listener engagement
  5. Polishing the Arrangement

    • Finalizing transitions and section alignment
    • Identifying and addressing arrangement flaws
    • Preparing the track for mixing
  6. Final Project

    • Students create a fully arranged track in their chosen genre for review and feedback
